Guys,

Of the 48 matches played in the English Premier League so far, 31 of them have gone over de 2.5 goals.
Is this a new trend? Or just flux?

i'd venture a guess to say it's too early to say it's a trend , but worth looking at further.

High powered teams like Man City and Blackburn have been flying over, and I think teams like Spurs, Villa, Birm City, Wolves, M'bro, will all bring down the averages.

Man City, Blackburn, Man U, Arsenal, and Chelsea look to have major scoring power though.

Doberman,

Can't agree about the teams that you thought would bring down the average. Middlesbrough have been involved intwo five goal games already so far this year and with Ehiogu and Parnaby out they looked stretched in Defence. Scoring doesn't seem too bad and will get better following the addition of Mendieta etc. Wolves etc are so bad defesively that there games could fly over

I forgot to mention that.
Knowing that 70% of the turnover with the Indonesian books is on what they call the Bola Jalan (Betting-in-running) and also knowing that they love to lay the Overs, no wonder they got beaten heavily recently.

true true, interesting trend that has been happening, I dont think it will go on much longer though, teams that usually favor unders like Blackburn, Leicester, Southampton, etc have all been scoring and giving up scores at an alarming rate.....

too many penalties awarded and way too many cards may be helping..

as long ast the trend keeps up though, no reason to bet against it...

Re overs,

the english leagues in general follow a regular month on month pattern for total goals.
Aside from May which, being the last month of the season is slightly unusual anyway,September has historically had the most goals/game.

Expect a steady decline through to March.

Bookings are usually dictated by instructions to the refs to come down hard on certain offenses. So the effect isn't permenent.
You get the same in world cup's etc when the early games see lots of cards.

Having said that some refs are just power crazed, megalomaniacs.

Potter,
First time I see you posting some form of passion.
Anyhow when are we going to start posting our Total predictions for the Premier League?

Yesterday 3 out of 4 matches were Over 2.5
Trend seems to be upward!
How about Man United-Arsenal?
Competitive match, so less goals?
Or will it be one big goals festival again?
Your votes please!

Jack,

In Indonesia live betting is what it is all about! Indeed on an EPL match they will take US$11k in one go, but it used to be US$22k.

The procedure being used by putting a bet on, if that is what you mean is as follow:
The bettor phones the bookie, then the bookie quotes the price, then the bettor can make his bet and then only when the bookie says ON, the bet is on. Obviously if a corner is being taken or any other dangerous situation, then the word ON will not fall, which can even take up to a minute.
